Tabernacle Baptist Church is a Fundamental, independent
Bible Believing Baptist church located in the Topsham
community, just north of Portland, Maine. Our church is
easily accessible from I 295 exit 31.
There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in
America and at least 10,000 independent Baptist
missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide.
Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous
congregation. We are self- governing and self-supporting.
The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The King
James Version of the Bible is our sole authority for faith and
practice. It is our desire to be a truly New Testament church.
At Tabernacle Baptist Church we believe that it is your
choice whether or not to accept the LORD as your Saviour,
and once you are saved you are eternally secure and can
never be lost again. We have one message-the message of
the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry-the ministry He has
given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to
every creature.

ABOUT TABERNACLE BAPTIST CHURCH
|

Adults
This adult ministry is designed to help strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ
while also strengthening your knowledge of the Bible. You and your family will
share experiences, learning, and worship that
will help you grow spiritually and discover God's will for your family.
Children
Children are a gift from God. They are given to parents, and it is the
responsibility of parents to give their children back to God. Giving a child to
God involves first he surrender of the parents' will to the will of God.
Preschool
Nothing serves as so precious a reminder of God's blessing to us as the birth of
a child. Every newborn baby should have the joy and privilege of being brought
into a truly Christian home. It is the responsibility of the local church nursery
and preschool ministry to provide all the help possible to parents as they seek
to serve the Lord, bring their children to church, and teach their children to
know God. With all the attention given to the physical facilities of the nursery
and preschool, let us never forget the vital importance of the Christian Family.
Our Mission
Save the Lost
Jesus clearly stated that He came...
"to seek and to save that which was
lost." Luke 19:10
1 Timothy 1:15 states "that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save
sinners..."
Christ has now ascended into
heaven and left us here to be His
ambassadors and carry on His
work of saving the lost. 2
Corinthians 5:19-20
Our purpose is to share the gospel
of Christ with Topsham, ME and the
entire world.
1 Thessalonians 1:8
Grow the Saved
New Christians' greatest need is to
immediately get food and
nourishment for their inner man.
Where does that come from? It
comes from God's Word.
"As newborn babes, desire the
sincere milk of the word, that ye
may grow thereby." 1 Peter 2:2
God's goal for believers is that they
become fully mature Christians who
are allowing Christ to live through
them in every area of their lives.
While no Christian is sinless, the
Bible teaches that children of God
should be growing and changing
into the likeness of Christ. Romans
8:29, 12:1
Equip the Faithful
Once people begin to grow and
learn God's Word, it is the church's
job to provide training and equip
them so that they can take what
they are learning and use it to
impact others in ministry.
A faithful person who has been
equipped for ministry is impacting
and changing lives through the
Holy Spirit!
Send Forth Workers
When a faithful person is equipped
to serve the Lord, that person
becomes a worker for Christ.
The mission is not simply to fill its
members full of Bible knowledge.
This is part of the mission and is
very important, but it isn't the
ultimate goal.
The mission of the church is to
equip faithful people so that they
can be sent forth to actively serve
the Lord, impacting and changing
lives.
Our desire is to see God send forth
workers to serve in the ministries
here at Tabernacle Baptist Church,
but also to send forth workers to
serve in other ministries around the
world.
We believe that the measure of a
great church is not its seating
capacity but its sending capacity.
We desire to be a sending church.
Our Mission is rather simple:
Be a witness to the lost
Grow the Saved
Equip the Faithful
Send Forth Workers
