Many times when we think of a person who is backslidden or seams to have turned there
back on God, we think of a person who has stopped coming to Church. The way of the
backslider always starts with a cooling off of the love of God in there hearts. They stop
caring about the things of God as they once used to, but continue to keep up the show of
righteousness so that no body will know the difference. Perhaps even they them selves
have not realized the path that they are on, only vaguely acknowledging a lack of interest
in God, but the backsliding has already begun. The reason why is seldom ever
addressed. It is usually placed on some excuse outside of there control, but honestly the
reason is because we no longer have our eyes on the LORD. A Christian can find himself
in almost any sin and still be attending church living like nothing is wrong, while Christ is
no longer esteemed in our hearts and the backsliding continues and takes us down paths
we whish we never went down. But Praise God it is never too late to turn around.
