Being Foolish

“Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.”

                                    Proverbs 14:9
When someone calls you a fool, it often leads to
embarrassment, indignation, shame, anger, reflection,
or a combination of any of these.  The bible uses the
word fool in its various forms mere than 185 times to
get our attention and cause us to reflect on avoiding
the foolishness that ensnares us at the most
inopportune moment.  Yes it is bad to be called a fool
but even worse when that person is right.
With Proverbs 14:9 in mind, think about the majority
of comedy today.  I know that we all love to laugh, my
self included, but the majority of comedy today either
out and out sin, or mocking sin.  The reason is
simple, we live in a God hating society which loves
pleasure, and there entertainment is passed on to us,
who find the humor in it with out realizing that they
are mocking God.  For to make a mock at sin is to mock
the creator who condemns that sin and tells us that it
works death.
Remember Psalms 14:1 “The fool hath said in his heart,
there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”  So
let the fools make there mock God will judge them,
just don’t laugh until you know who you are laughing
at.  But please laugh; there is enough humor in life’s
situations to make Bill Cosby look like an amateur.
