BRINGING YOUR MIND INTO SUBJECTION
|
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy
thoughts shall be established.
Proverbs 16:3
Have you ever had thoughts pop into your head that you wish never
came? Did your mind start wandering down the path of sin which you
were trying to avoid? We know that as long as we are in this flesh we will
be troubled with sin, but if Romans chapter six is correct then we should
be able to have victory over that sin. The bible tells us Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can
know it?” You must understand that all sin begins in your heart, and there
is no one able to deceive you better than your self. The first step is of
course to be saturated into the word of God. This is the first step to
committing your works unto the LORD. After all if you want to know what
God wants you to do then you must read it in his word. The word of God
will reveal things to you that you never saw about yourself. Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.” Next is to determine to do right no matter what. This
takes commitment; although the strength to perform must come from the
LORD you must first have made the commitment. The change in your
thought process will then come gradually but it will come.
